Healthy & Active Living
An increasingly large body of evidence suggests that, in addition to a healthy diet, physical activity is critical for the well-being of body and mind and the reduction of risk of chronic disease. Regular exercise has been found to add years to lives and improve quality of life.
The benefits of being physically active include reducing the risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Physical activity can also prevent the loss of bone mass (e.g., osteoporosis) and can improve psychological well-being, the way we deal with stress, mental functioning and promote healthy sleep patterns.
